In continuous production since 1938, the Big Crown Pointer Date is Oris's longest-running model and a symbol of Swiss watchmaking. Featuring an oversized crown, a date hand with a red tip, and a fluted bezel, it is a landmark watch of Oris and synonymous with timeless design. For the first time, Oris presents the model with an entirely bronze construction (case, bezel, crown, bracelet, and clasp). Creating a bracelet with such detailed design from bronze, a material softer than steel, requires substantial research and careful production by Oris's in-house technical team. Bronze represents part of the history of the independent company, which began in 1904, and the way it oxidizes over time is an elegant symbol of how the natural environment changes with the seasons in the beautiful Swiss village of Holstein, Oris's headquarters. Inside the new model beats the Calibre 754 movement, an automatic mechanism visible through the see-through case back.
